Between Subjects

Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026

The short version

The Between Subjects publishing tool collects no personal data from anyone. It is used by its operator to publish Between Subjects videos to Between Subjects’ own accounts, and it touches no other person’s data.

Data we collect from TikTok users

None. The tool has no public interface, no user accounts and no sign-in for anyone other than its operator. It does not read, collect, store or process the personal data, profile information, videos or activity of any other TikTok user.

What the tool accesses on our own account

Authorised against the operator’s own TikTok account only, using these permissions:

What is stored, and where

An OAuth access token and refresh token for our own account are stored locally, on the operator’s own machine, in a configuration file that is not published or shared. Video files, captions and the performance figures for our own posts are stored in a local database on that same machine.

Nothing is stored on a public server, and there is no hosted database of any kind.

Sharing

No data is sold, shared, or passed to third parties. Content is sent only to the platform it is being published to.

Third-party services

Producing a video involves sending our own scripts and prompts — text we wrote ourselves — to the model providers used to generate narration and footage. No personal data of any TikTok user is involved, because none is held.

Retention

Local files and tokens are kept for as long as the tool is in use, and may be deleted at any time by the operator. Revoking the app’s access in TikTok settings immediately ends its ability to act on the account.

Children

The tool is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

This policy may be updated. The date above records the current version.
